- The technologist performs CT procedures with guidelines established by this institution, the equipment manufacturer and/or radiation safety guidelines established by the Texas Department of Health

CT Technologist Job Description
- Operates scanner's computerized controls and enters commands necessary to visualize and manipulate screen images
- Under the supervision of the Radiology Director and Radiology Manager, is responsible for the provision of Imaging Services to include the specialty areas of CT, routine diagnostic x-rays, portable x-rays, and fluoroscopy
- Responsible for maintaining on-going Quality Control (QC) processes in CT department
- Assists radiologist with imaging and interventional procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast if needed
- Provides care for the psychological and physical needs of patients for CT scans
- Understands and uses field of view, kVp, mAs and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images
- Checks patient history, and obtains appropriate waivers and forms, if applicable
- Screens patients for contraindications to iodinated contrast injection
- Handles delicate situations (tumors, cancerous pathology, ) in a supportive and empathetic manner (“good bedside manners”) while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding exam outcomes or potential issues
- Monitors Patient Library and print films as needed

- Frequently responds to STAT and ASAP customer needs
