EKG Tech Job Description
- Obtain patient history, provide instruction to patient, ensures that patient consents have been completed prior to testing
- Properly preps patient for stress testing and/or Holter application
- Appropriately handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes, urine bags or other devices
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency equipment per BLS/CPR instruction
- Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient and notifies proper authorities for safety concerns
- Processes patient information/diagnostic test data including documentation as required in Care Connect, Muse, and/or Xcelera applications

- Train other hospital employees to EKGs
- Place monitors on patients and/or give to parent to perform home hookup
- Accept and process Holter reports via our own Holter uploading system and Trans telephonic and pacemaker reports from monitoring service websites
- Perform remote monitor downloads and enrollment quarterly
- Obtain insurance information and complete billing forms for CHCA for all Holter/TTM patients with accuracy and complete order for test in EPIC/Apollo

EKG Tech Job Description
- Determine training and upgrading needs and initiate requests in a timely fashion
- Scans and analyzes 24 and 48 hour Holter monitors
- Analyzes, edits, and prepares Holter monitor reports for review by physician, meeting Service Level Agreement for turnaround time
- Monitors cardiac rhythms while conducting electrocardiograms, Holter monitor application and exercise stress test
- Explain exam procedures to patient and family members prior to beginning test
- Inserts IV catheters for procedures in the ECHO Department
- Performs blood glucose tests as needed
