- Maintains knowledge of hemodialysis catheters
- Utilizes knowledge of current and new procedure techniques and adapts patient care needs accordingly
- Utilizes and updates knowledge of indications, uses, adverse effects and administration of frequently use medications (Oral, topical and intravenous), including anticoagulants and thrombolytics
- Responds promptly to adverse events (e.g., vasovagal) when removing venous sheaths
- Provides pre-and post-procedure care to patients in hemodialysis
- Performs venipuncture, blood draws and administers antibiotics and infusion therapies ordered by the physician
- Facilitates the coordination of bed assignments and calls report to nursing units
