Radiographer Job Description
- Verifies informed consent for interventional radiographic and CT procedures as required
- Assists radiologists and physicians during fluoroscopic and interventional procedures
- Starts and maintains intravenous access
- Performs non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures under physician supervision and in compliance with Mercy policy
- Performs surgical and portable radiographic exams
- Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of radiographic and CT procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
- The Special Procedures Radiographer reviews requests for radiologic procedures, using reason for the procedures, department guidelines, physician's recommendations and patient condition and personal judgment
