- Other Post Anesthesia (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) duties as assigned
- Provides exceptional care to pediatric and adult patients from culturally diverse populations prior to and immediately after surgical procedures
- Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes
- Documents interventions according to practice guidelines

- Minimum of 1 year med/surg experience is required and Critical Care, ED or PACU experience is preferred

- One year of general registered nurse experience required
- Two years of medical/surgical experience or one year of critical care and/or PACU experience preferred

RN PACU Job Description
- Must possess and maintain a current Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate or obtain within three months of hire
- CPAN Certification
- One year in Acute Care Hospital PACU
- Experience in Recovery setting strongly preferred, but combination of education, other experience and specialty training may be considered
- ACLS (CT CPRACLS) , BASIC LIFE SUPPORT-AHA (CT CPRBLS) , PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPOR (CT CPRPALS) , REGISTERED NURSE (RN)
- Minimum one year PACU experience or equivalent critical care experience
- Carrying up to 10 lbs- Up to 30% of time
- Working near moving parts – 30% - 50% of time
- Current MO Nursing License
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Endoscopy, PACU, or ICU
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire (Must have when taking call)
- No certification required (prefer OCN or Biotherapy certification)
RN PACU Job Description
- Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions
- 2 or more years nursing experience in Perianesthesia, PACU, or ICU RN with at least 2 years' experience in hospital based high acuity nursing units (such as Emergency Room, Surgical, Transplant, Intermediate Care/Step Down units) may also be considered
- Basic Life Support Certification through Health Care Providers
- EDUCATION - Associate's
- Minimum of 1 year experience in PACU or ICU
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification
- Experienced in the surgical process and interviewing, screening, assessment and education preferred
- Demonstrates ability to assume a leadership role for patient-care teams
- Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks, duties, to other people
- Ability to achieve results for the organization with and through people, utilizing creative and innovative solutions, conflict management problem-solving skills
- Minimum of two years of Medical-Surgical Experience
- Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English
