Originate and check complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations and specifications
Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines
Prepare technical reports relates to specific design issues
Provide technical direction to designers and less experienced engineers as directed
Assist in constructability reviews
Contact counterparts in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives, and project field personnel when directed, to either gather or give information
Schedule and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering deliverables
Lead and/or participate in technical discussions with clients, installers, subcontractors, etc
Analyze structures using ANSYS or GTSTRUDL
BS degree in Civil/Structural engineering from an accredited University and 6 years of progressive related engineering experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position according to Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety). *
Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or additional working hours during Key Project initiative time periods
Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing practical solutions
Ability to independently execute the detailed design of complex steel and/or concrete structures
Thorough knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, and ASCE 7, as well as other industry codes and standards
Proficient in the use of structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or ANSYS
Experience with CADD applications, such as MicroStation or AutoCad
Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and of construction methods for concrete and steel structures
