Support the team lead with a variety of initiatives and projects, including reporting, valuations, including Other Than Temporary Impairments (OTTI) analysis, portfolio analysis, investment income planning and investment mandates involving new asset types
Act as a change agent in a process or technical accounting in administering traditional and non-traditional financial instruments, delivering process enhancements using the ZurichLean Framework, where applicable, and initiating change in order to contribute to continuous improvement of quality checks and monitoring of services
Provide specialist advice and help to address specific technical queries from internal clients and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with Zurich policies and processes and regulatory requirements
Drive key performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in order to optimize business performance in line with set objective
Performing the monthly hard close process and investment data delivery to ensure efficient high quality delivery and appropriate sign-off procedures
Establishing local procedures, controls and operating effectiveness tests enabling compliance of sub ledger with local and Group requirements
Providing business insights and analytics to our clients related to investments and their financial results to make them understand the impact and drivers. By in-depth understanding of accounting standards, systems, processes, financial markets and risks associated act as a change agent and subject matter expert to pass on knowledge
Supporting the team in day-to-day operations or project related tasks to follow up on incidents, client queries and improvement actions to continuously strengthen our service delivery as well as train others on accounting / reporting matters
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance and 5 or more years of experience in related field is required
Preferred: Masters degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance and 5 or more years of experience in related field
Advanced knowledge of almost all operational asset, risks and markets
Independent worker who can take responsibility for the team, leads by example, strengthens the knowledge and competencies of the team members and acts in defining high quality closing processes
Excellent understanding of investment sub ledger system such as SAP FAM
Experience with establishing and maintaining accounting processes, including collaboration with IT in developing enhancements to sub-ledger platform
Certificates Preferred: CA, CPA or ACA qualification with 2 year post qualification relevant experience
